The rigid, modular telescope, scalable and designed to go further
The Sevunscope Advanced 150 f/8 is designed for astronomers seeking an instrument oriented toward long focal lengths and high magnifications. This configuration prioritizes precision, observing comfort, and mechanical stability, while preserving the modular DNA of the Sevun system.
The idea behind the Advanced platform
Instead of enclosing the optics in a sheet-metal tube, we developed an open platform made of aeronautical-grade aluminum integrating a telescopic mechanism. This architecture makes it possible to extend the platform in order to accommodate longer focal lengths, such as f/8, while ensuring high mechanical rigidity. The platform provides the structure, while the modules carry the optics.
What this changes in the field
Controlled transport : The telescope remains fully disassemblable and transportable, while accepting a more massive structure linked to the telescopic mechanism. This deliberate compromise makes it possible to access long focal lengths without resorting to bulky tubes.
Thermal equilibrium : The open structure allows the mirrors to reach thermal balance naturally and quickly, limiting internal turbulence and promoting stable images at high magnifications.
Durable design : The use of aluminum combined with high-performance Nylon components (SLS 3D printing) guarantees a rigid and long-lasting instrument. Each unit is assembled and inspected by hand in our workshop. The mechanical structure is guaranteed for life.
A reliable optical system (GSO)
We selected GSO mirrors (150 mm at f/8) for their consistency and their suitability for high-resolution observing. The f/8 focal ratio provides excellent comfort for planetary and lunar observation, with more tolerant collimation and optimal use of high magnifications.
An investment for your lifetime as an astronomer
The key strength of the Sevun system is its modularity. Your practice evolves ? Your instrument does too. With the Advanced platform, you retain your platform and can evolve your optical configuration toward other focal lengths or diameters, without calling your initial investment into question.
