The Sevunscope Advanced 250 f/4 redefines access to large apertures within an advanced mechanical platform. With a 250 mm aperture, you enter a new dimension of light-gathering capability, while benefiting from the telescopic architecture of the Advanced platform, designed to accommodate ambitious optical configurations without the bulk of a traditional tube. This is a very high-performance instrument intended for demanding observers and imagers.

The idea behind the Advanced platform

Instead of a massive and constraining tube, we developed an open platform made of aeronautical-grade aluminum incorporating a telescopic mechanism. This architecture makes it possible to adjust the platform length to accommodate substantial focal lengths, while ensuring a high level of mechanical rigidity. The platform provides the structure, while the modules carry the optics.

What this changes in the field

Controlled transport : The telescope remains fully dismountable and transportable, despite a more substantial structure linked to the telescopic mechanism. This is a deliberate compromise to make large aperture accessible within a scalable platform.

Thermal equilibrium : A 250 mm mirror has significant thermal inertia. The open structure of the Advanced platform allows unrestricted airflow over all surfaces of the mirror, ensuring rapid thermal equilibrium and stable images from the beginning of the night.

Durable design : The use of aluminum combined with high-performance Nylon components (SLS 3D printing) guarantees a rigid and long-lasting instrument. Each unit is assembled and inspected by hand in our workshop. The mechanical structure is guaranteed for life.

A reliable optical system (GSO)

With 56 % more light-gathering power than a 200 mm, the 250 f/4 is a true photon-collecting machine. Its 74 mm secondary mirror limits obstruction while ensuring excellent illumination of the focal plane. Equipped with a 2" rack-and-pinion focuser (with 1.25" adapter), it supports complete imaging trains with perfect stability, while integrating into a platform capable of evolving toward longer focal lengths.

The key strength of the Sevun system lies in its modularity. As your ambitions evolve, so does your instrument. With the Advanced platform, you retain your mechanical base and can evolve your optical configuration toward other focal lengths or apertures, without calling your primary investment into question.
